AN animal rights group has called for reindeer to be banned from garden centers at Christmas. Animal Aid claims garden center grottos are stressful for the animals and has written to dozens of centers in the UK.
Campaign manager Tor Bailey said: “We’d rather garden centers did not use live animals because it is very stressful for them.
“This campaign is aimed at reindeer but in an ideal world they would not use any animals. If they used camels or penguins it would be very stressful for them.”
