A “circle of silence” protest by activists at the Cheltenham Festival failed to stop the famous horse racing event taking place.
The bizarre protest saw activists stand in silence in a circle with tape over their mouths. The also held placards reading “standing up for the silent victims of our society.”
The event organized in the English spa town by Toby Brown, 43, failed to have any impact on the prestigious horse racing.
PETA also appealed to race fans to boycott the event and asked on its website for people to write to TV bosses to ask them to stop broadcasting the festival. But the racing was well-attended broadcast live on UK TV.
