JESSICA Simpson has stepped up personal security after being targeted by animal rights extremists.
The US singer has recruited extra personnel for her book-signing tour and is insisting on guests having bought tickets and books in order to be allowed entry.
Guests may also be subjected to body searches where security will be checking for weapons and protest-related materials like signs, banners, and megaphones.
Her team are also putting venues hosting book-signing events on notice there will be a larger security presence.
Simpson has been targeted at stores in New York and Los Angeles and was also hounded by extremists as she enjoyed as private dinner with her husband.
Activists have targeted her because she has worn fur in the past.
