Animal Rights Harassment—Over Single Fur Poncho

A lone activist targeted a small gift shop after it sold a single fur poncho.

Activist Linda McCarthy started a petition against the shop called Hyperdome in Logan, Queensland, Australia after claiming to be “outraged.” She was so offended by the garment made from rabbit pelts she organized a protest outside the shop.

But Jim Doyle, who owns the shop said he was unaware the garment contained real fur and said he would not be stocking it again.

Despite this Ms. McCarthy, who is a member of the Coast to Coast Animal Friends group, said she was shocked that a store in her local shopping center was selling such products.

She said: “I refuse to accept a local shop is profiting from the suffering of defenseless animals.”
