FORMER Baywatch star and PETA ambassador Pamela Anderson has told how she has a close relationship with controversial Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.
She said the pair “are very close” and that he “trusts her.”
The 51-year-old actress turned activist revealed that she visits the Wikileaks founder at the Ecuadorean Embassy in London for hours at a time and leaves “exhausted.”
She said: “We don’t have a romantic relationship like that, but I feel very close to him. And I feel closer to him than a lot of people have and he trusts me. Yes, it’s a friendship.”
But she added the pair share a “romantic struggle” which is their mutual dedication to activism.
Assange, 47, took refuge in the Embassy in 2102.
He fears if he leaves he will be handed over to the US and prosecuted over publication of a huge swathe of classified military and diplomatic documents.
The actress has sent a letter to the prime minister of Australia Scott Morrison urging him to ban live animal exports.
She has penned a number of letters to other national leaders calling on them to support animal rights.
